Introducing the WSDA Intranet!!! I would like to introduce to you the new WSDA intranet. A intranet, for those of you who haven't heard this expression before, is like a private website -- only people who join can see what's there. We can use the site to share files, pictures, and links, coordinate events, and keep everyone up-to-date on important group announcements. You don't need anything special to connect to the site; just a web browser and an Internet connection. But you do need to sign up to become a member. There are many variants of intranets but simply put, for our needs, it serves as a more manageable hub for a WSDA collaborative effort. This does not mean that the WSDA web site is going away. What it means is the WSDA web site itself will assume a slightly different purpose as a place of general information for visitors. The real meat of our value will be centered at our intranet site. The WSDA Intranet has at your disposal a calendar, a place for group discussions, group documents, group contacts, instant messaging, free email and announcements. The intent is that this intranet site is self managing, self organizing and more open for member involvement collaboration and action. Now keeping this in mind everyone has the ability to post WSD related information to the site, so in a certain way, we are all webmasters of this site. Ok, now it's time for me to show you how to get on the WSDA intranet. Here's how to join...
